What sort of help do the writing consultants provide?
They provide free feedback on any written work ranging from class assignments, to theses, to application essays. In addition, we can help you with any step of the writing process. If you are having a hard time getting started, feel free to drop by. You don't necessarily have to come in with something written. Overall, we offer ourselves as "professional eyes" to evaluate the effectiveness of your writing.

Do the writing consultants provide help via email?
In general, we have found that it is easier and more effective to meet face-to-face. Often after an initial meeting, email exchanges continue between student and tutor. Please contact us for more information about this service.

Will the writing consultants proofread my papers?
Yes and no. We are not editors or the "grammar police." We will help you clean up technical errors, but we will not do the work for you. You will be expected to participate in the session. The same goes for email. Please, do not send us a paper expecting us to correct it and send it back to you. We cannot do that.

English is not my first language. Can the writing consultants still help me with my writing?
Yes. Several of our consultants have experience working with ESL students. In addition we have tip and information sheets that address specific ESL issues.

How much does tutoring cost?
Nothing. All tutoring is free.
