Jamie Schwadel is a Master of Architecture candidate at the BAC. Originally from New Jersey, Jamie came to Boston in 2001 to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Philosophy from Boston University. After graduating, Jamie explored a variety of jobs and graduate programs. A friend suggested she try a semester of architecture due to her love of drawing and math. Not wanting to leave Boston, Jamie discovered the BAC.
Jamie currently works as an Architectural Designer for Cambridge Seven Associates. Her present focus is on designing an Exploratorium in Kuwait. Jamie has seen this project from the beginning stages all the way through design development. The project architect and principal will travel to Kuwait to present the final information and Jamie will be building a detailed model of the design once they return.
Architecture has proven to be a great choice for Jamie. Since starting at the BAC, she has worked as a peer tutor as well as a Teacher's Assistant for math and Introductory Studio courses. Jamie has done freelance rendering work for development companies, applying her skills to create complex 3D video walk throughs of their proposed housing developments.
In addition to her professional achievements, Jamie found personal success at the BAC. She met her future wife during her first semester math class. They were married in 2010 and her wife graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the BAC in May 2013.
