Tell me, and I will forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I will understand. (Old Chinese Proverb)
Anthony Tappe is the son and grandson of an architect. He was exposed to the visual world and the BAC from an early age, as his father has served as a Board Member and has taught a number of studio classes. As an undergraduate in college, Anthony decided to turn to the structure of human thought. He received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy with honors from St. Andrews in Scotland. For the next 10 years, he was involved with the design and construction of furniture making. Anthony decided to enter the BAC in 2001 to expand the scale of his life as a designer. His desire has been to participate in society’s constant reinvention of its environment, to help improve our living spaces, and to make them more elegant, more efficient, more sustainable, and more socially responsible. While at the BAC, Tony has been an exemplary student, both in his academic and practice work, and he is most proud of becoming LEED accredited in Spring 2005. His Thesis project looks at the boundaries between public and private space in architecture. Anthony is currently employed at Shepley Bulfinch Richardson & Abbott.
