Digital Images

  • BAC Visual Resources Digital Images Database
    Images consist of architecture, architectural drawings (site plans, sections, floor plans), interior design, furniture, fine arts, and the decorative arts. The collection's contents reflect the teaching interests of the BAC faculty as well as providing research support for students. New images are added on a monthly basis.
  • Digital Sanborn Maps
    Historical fire insurance maps of MA towns (1867-1970).

Periodical and Newspaper Indexes

  • Art Full Text
    Abstracts and journal citations for a range of disciplines including art, antiques, archaeology, and architecture.
  • Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals
    Journal citations for architecture from the 1930s with selective coverage back to the 1860s.
  • Design and Applied Arts Index (DAAI)
    Journal citations for design and craft disciplines (such as ceramics, textiles, glass).
  • Garden, Landscape & Horticulture Index
    Topics include horticulture, botany, garden/landscape design & history, ecology, plant and garden conservation, garden management, and horticultural therapy.
  • GreenFILE
    Topics include environmental science, biology, and public and environmental affairs. Scholarly and general interest titles, as well as government documents and reports. Citations, abstracts, and full text.articles for select journals.
  • Info Trac*
    General Reference.
  • InformeDesign
    Sponsored by the University of Minnesota. Provides concise summaries of design and human behavior research.
  • JSTOR
    Full text articles from scholarly journals. Disciplines include: archaeology, classics, ecology, economics, history, political science, and sociology as well as other key fields in the humanities and social sciences.
  • Massachusetts Newsstand*
    Full text coverage of major MA newspapers (coverage dates vary per newspaper).
  • ProQuest
    Journal citations and full text articles for a variety of journals and newspapers including the New York Times (full text).
