Advising and Mentoring
Whether it is providing advice on a studio or thesis project, sharing tips on preparing a portfolio, or counseling a student on succeeding in the workplace, design professionals looking to volunteer at the BAC have a variety of options. Specific opportunities include but are not limited to:

  • academic advisor, who meets with students one-on-one regarding specific issues concerning the curriculum and fulfilling degree requirements.
  • practice curriculum faculty member, who reviews student reports of their practice experience and certifies that learning has taken place.
  • thesis committee representative, who develops the thesis curriculum and provides feedback at student design presentations.
  • thesis advisor, who works closely with an individual student throughout his/her thesis project.

Committee Membership
Through involvement on BAC committees, design professionals can play an active role in shaping the College's future. Opportunities for involvement range from the Student Affairs and External Affairs committee to the honors and awards committee that awards scholarships to students.

For more information on volunteering at the BAC, please share your interest with any member of the BAC faculty, staff, Board of Directors, or Board of Overseers, who will direct you to the appropriate office.
