Refund Policy - Degree Programs
Tuition refunds are granted for In-Semester or Full-School Withdrawal only and are contingent upon the BAC Registrar's receipt of the student's written notice of withdrawal from the BAC.

There is no refund for reduction in course load. Recipients of Title IV financial aid should refer to "Refunds and Financial Aid" for information about mandatory reduction of aid funds.

Refunds for full-school withdrawal during the Spring 2010 semester are determined as follows:

  • 100% Tuition Refund (less $50 Withdrawal Fee): Written notice of withdrawal received by Registrar by 10:00 am, Monday, January 25, 2010;
  • 90% Tuition Refund: Written Notice of withdrawal received by Registrar by 5:00 pm, Friday, January 29, 2010;
  • 75% Tuition Refund : Written Notice of withdrawal received by Registrar by 5:00 pm, Friday, February 5, 2010;
  • 50% Tuition Refund: Written Notice of withdrawal received by Registrar by 5:00 pm, Friday, February 12, 2010;
  • 25% Tuition Refund: Written Notice of withdrawal received by Registrar by 5:00 pm, Friday, February 19, 2010;
  • No Refund after 5:00 pm, Friday, February 19, 2010, except by decision of the Appeals Committee.

Special Notice for Degree Students Registered Part Time
If you registered as a Part-Time Academic Degree Student or a Non-Matriculated Student, you are under a slightly different refund schedule and should contact the Bursar’s office at 617-585-0115 for more information.

Refunds and Financial Aid
Federal regulations require that a designated refund schedule be used when a financial aid recipient withdraws from school before the 60% period of the semester. Financial aid recipients in a BAC degree program are subject to the Return of Title IV Funds rule. The analysis is based on a pro-rata schedule: the number of days attended divided by the number of days in the semester. The remainder of the student's aid is then returned to the source. Please be aware that the federal refund schedule does not mirror the school's refund schedule. For additional information, please contact the Financial Aid Office.
