Campus Living

Students at the BAC can truly call the city of Boston their campus. That's because, unlike at most urban schools, the city provides not just the backdrop to students' learning environment, but the very heart of it.

During the day, the BAC "campus" consists of the more than 300 firms in Boston and the surrounding area in which students engage in the practice curriculum. In the workplace, students contribute to projects that are changing the face of the city, and learn first-hand from practicing design professionals.

In the late afternoon and evening, students gather in the BAC's more conventional campus on Newbury Street in Boston's historic Back Bay. The Back Bay is one of the most exciting and vibrant neighborhoods of Boston. Aside form the many restaurants and shops along Newbury Street and the surrounding area, the Back Bay has a fascinating history of architecture, evidenced by its development and many unique buildings and landscapes.

At the college’s main campus, 320 Newbury Street, practicing architects and interior designers from many of the city's top firms come to teach courses, serve as mentors, and participate in reviews of student work. Newly constructed classrooms and studio space at 100 Massachusetts Avenue offer students a vibrant environment to experience their education.
