TOEFL

If you have a first language other than English, you must demonstrate a level of English proficiency necessary to complete studies at the master's level. You may submit documentation of completing an undergraduate degree where English was the medium of instruction or a TOEFL score report with a minimum score of 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 79 (internet-based), or you may enroll at the BAC without taking the TOEFL (see details below).

Enrolling in the BAC master's degree programs without a TOEFL
If you have not taken the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or have scored below 550 (paper-based), 213 (computer-based), or 79 (internet-based), you will be admitted to the BAC, guaranteed, by completing the highest level of Proficient English Program at EC Boston.

EC Boston provides courses for English as a Second Language (ESL) students in various levels. It is located just a few steps from the BAC. www.ecenglish.com.

Here's how it works:

  1. Apply to the BAC (you must apply to the BAC first).
  2. Email EC Boston at boston@ecenglish.com. In your message, indicate that you are interested in the guaranteed admission partnership with the BAC.
  3. You will receive an application packet from EC Boston.
  4. Once you have completed the BAC admission requirements EXCEPT for the TOEFL, and your completed application form is received by EC Boston, you will receive a conditional acceptance letter* from the BAC and an I-20 from EC Boston.
    • *The letter indicates that you will attend the BAC after successfully completing your studies at EC Boston.
  5. Upon successful completion of either:
    • The highest level of English and receipt of EC Boston staff's recommendation OR
    • Receiving an Institutional TOEFL score of 550 at EC Boston 

you will be admitted into the Master of Architecture or Master of Interior Design program at the BAC.
