Distance Master of Architecture Tuition & Fees

Effective Fall registration 2009 through Summer registration 2010

Tuition
Tuition is charged on a per-semester basis for the standard curriculum. The current rate per semester is $14,098. Scholarships are available.

Students who are required to take additional courses will be assessed tuition at the same rate as Boston-based M Arch students.

Fees
Each semester, there is a fee for the in-Boston intensive. For Summer 2010, the fee is $875 for students in Thesis I and $375 for students in Thesis II. It includes a standard, double-occupancy room. A limited number of single rooms are available for an additional fee. In addition, the following fees are associated with admission, registration, and attendance at the BAC. Fees are non-refundable except as noted and may be adjusted or new fees added during the year as needed; such changes will be posted to the BAC website.

Admission Fees

  • Application Fee: $50 per application
  • Intent to Register Fee: first semester only, $150 per student
  • Reactivation Fee: $150 per application

Registration Fees

  • Late Registration Fee: $150 per semester, waived for students in their first semester at the BAC.
  • Post Registration Fee: $200 per semester

Student Fees

  • Atelier Student: Government Fee (non refundable after 4pm first day of classes.) $10 per semester
  • Health Insurance (students must purchase this insurance or provide proof of other coverage.) $526 (coverage through 8/31/2010)
  • Lab, Materials or Trip Fees for Specific Course(s): Courses with lab, materials or trip fees will be noted on the BAC Course Schedule: Varies

Other Fees

  • Account Late Payment Fee (Collection and legal fees may increase your account balance by 50%.): $25 per month Collection Fees on Student Account Balance (Collection and legal fees may increase your account balance by 50%.)
  • Employer Reimbursement Fee: $25 per occurrence. To defer payment for the Spring 2010 semester a student must submit a purchase order or letter from the employer that indicates how much they will pay, that they will pay by January 4,2010, and that the payment is not contingent on grades or completion of coursework. If the employer will only pay after the course is completed satisfactorily, the student must pay at registration and arrange for reimbursement from the employer.
  • Late Thesis Document Fee: $50
  • NSF Fee: $25-$50 Check unpaid for insufficient funds or stop. (The BAC will charge $25 for the first occurrence, $35 for the second and $50 for the third occurrence. No personal checks will be accepted after the third occurrence.)
  • Transcript Fee: $3 per transcript Withdrawal Fee: (BAC withdrawal by 4pm on first day of classes) $50 per semester, waived for students in their first semester at the BAC.
  • Graduation Fee: $50 per degree

No one is allowed to register for classes or receive grades or other BAC services with an outstanding balance for tuition or fees. Students who carry a balance due to default on agreements to pay tuition or unpaid checks are subject to administrative withdrawal, resulting in cancellation of enrollment in classes. Accounts in arrears are submitted to outside agencies for service and collection. Students will be responsible for payment of fees charged by these agencies for their services.
