How Do I Apply for Transfer Credit?
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You may begin the process for transferring credit after you have been accepted into a program at the BAC. Please refer to the <a href="/how-to-apply">How to Apply</a> page to determine application requirements. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Please provide the following to </span><a href="mailto:admissions@the-bac.edu"><span style="font-weight: 400;">admissions@the-bac.edu</span></a>:</p>
For Domestic Students
<ol>
<li>An <strong>official transcript from each institution</strong> (sent directly from the school to the BAC), including any courses you plan to complete before matriculating to the BAC.</li>
<li><strong>Copies of catalog course descriptions</strong> from the year in which each class listed was taken. For instance, if a class was taken in 1999, the description from 1999 must be provided. Most college registrar's offices, libraries, or websites provide these upon request. Please note that in some cases where course descriptions are not sufficient to determine course content, course syllabi or other materials may be required.</li>
<li>A <strong>portfolio of relevant examples</strong> for each design and design media course (drawing, drafting, rendering, painting, digital applications, perspectives and physical model making, and technical work) you wish to transfer. Please follow these general guidelines when submitting your portfolio:</li>
</ol>
<ul>
<li>Describe each image with a brief caption to explain your thinking. </li>
<li>Include reproductions of preliminary sketches and diagrams to document the entire design process.</li>
<li>Present academic work in chronological order. For each project included, identify the school where the studio was taken, in which semester and year, studio level, and project duration.</li>
<li>Separate your work into sections reflecting the source: Academic, professional, and/or personal.</li>
<li>When submitting group projects (either studio or professional), be sure that your role is clearly identified.</li>
</ul>
For International Students
<p>You may request transfer credits by submitting a course-by-course credential evaluation for any foreign transcripts. Please note that credential evaluations are a requirement for all international applicants who did not attend a U.S. accredited institution, whether or not they have a previous degree in architecture. We recommend the following agencies:</p>
