Campus Traditions

At the BAC, we take pride in our rich, 130-year history and traditions that have been built within our campus life. Here are some campus traditions that Student Life helps facilitate that students look forward to all year.

On the first Friday of every month when classes are in session, students congregate for a social gathering with food, sponsored by a different student organization.

Each semester, BAC student organizations sponsor free food for students around the time of finals and previous to studio reviews. In addition, certain building hours are extended to give students extra access to the resources on campus.

Held each semester, this event celebrates the scholarly and professional accomplishments of our BAC students, faculty and staff.

Leading up to midterms, the Student Government Association sponsors snacks and works with the Dean of Students' Office, Facilities, and Operations to extend the building hours at 320 Newbury Street to midnight. The BAC Library usually extends its hours as well, allowing students to focus on midterm projects and studying.

PARTI is an annual social event for BAC students and Alumni, celebrating the end of the academic year at the BAC. The event has previously been a cocktail reception with a live band, followed by a DJ'd dance party.

Each semester the Student Government Association sponsors a series of lectures for students from leading professionals and experts revolving around a specific theme.

Student organizations run interactive workshops like the Model Building Workshop, workshops on photographing your studio work, as well as tutorials for certain computer programs to give students the opportunity to learn new skills, increase their confidence and improve their craft.
