Arthur is a Survey Consultant and Preservation Planner for the Massachusetts Historical Commission. He currently works in Canton, MA and has worked in Boston, Chinatown, Brookline, Malden, Lynn, Somerville, and Wilmington. Arthur has degrees in Geography from the University of Chicago (MA 1967) and Clark University (Ph.D. 1980). He has been a teacher since 1975, and has taught at Clark University, Boston University, Salve Regina University and the BAC. He is a member of the Society of Architectural Historians, the Association of American Geographers, and the Society for Commercial Archeology focusing on preservation of the CITGO sign. More
