Stephen J. Wessling '75 is the founder and President of Wessling Architects, a firm that he started in the basement of his home 20 years ago. Today Wessling Architects, located in Quincy, MA, is a mid-size award-winning firm registered in 15 states servicing more than 400 clients nationally and internationally.

Stephen is a multi-disciplined architect with over 46 years of in-depth experience on an extensive variety of building types and sizes. He is accomplished as an entire building architect, from the ground up, inside and out. He is a consultant to clients, colleagues and professional associations, presenting as an expert witness in building failure causes and remedies. Seminar topics include: historic preservation, building envelope failures, forensic architecture, organic growth issues and building use analysis (BOMA).

His numerous affiliations include: American Institute of Architects, Boston Society of Architects, Construction Specifications Institute, International Code Council, National Fire Protection Association, National Roofing Contractors Association, International Facility Management Association, Past President, New England Chapter Roof Consultants Institute and National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Stephen serves on the Board of Directors for Building Owners and Management Association (BOMA) and Co-Chair for the BOMA Benefit Committee, Board of Directors, Preservation Massachusetts, Development Board for My Brother's Keeper and past Board of Directors, South Shore Habitat for Humanity.

Stephen received his Bachelor of Architecture from the BAC in 1975, graduating second in his class and received his Certificate in Architectural and Structural Engineering from Weymouth Vocational Technical High School Post Graduate Program, where he graduated at the top of his class.
