Nicole LaPietra is a Master of Interior Design candidate at the BAC. Born in Howell, NJ, Nicole received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Marketing from the College of New Jersey in 2005. After working for a few years, Nicole discovered how workspace design has such a huge impact on both employees and clients. This awareness encouraged her to consider a career change. She decided to fulfill her interest in design and moved to Boston to attend the BAC in 2009. Nicole's interest in workspace design has really taken off since that initial experience and since enrolling in the BAC. She now realizes how a space can enhance the quality of work of an employee and that it is a truly phenomenal, and real, thing.

Nicole reflects on her decision to return to school, "I think my biggest accomplishment has been putting everything into making this change and getting the most out of the BAC that I can. When I decided to return to school it wasn't a light decision, and I have worked hard every step of the way to where I am now."

Nicole led the BAC's Interior Design Society as President (2012-2013) and as Vice President (2011-2012). She also served as the President of the ASID BAC Student Chapter (2011-2012) and was also a Student Representative to the Board for the New England Chapter of ASID (2011-2012).

Nicole's practice has involved her with the Teknion WorkplaceOne design competition, the Feast of Music Event Design, and the 2011 IIDA Fashion Show. All of these projects have challenged her to design in new ways and have developed her creativity as a designer. Collaborating with other BAC students, who all have a passion unmatched to other schools, has been the most rewarding part for her and whose efforts produced really amazing designs.

Nicole is employed at Tribeca Builders working in their design studio.  Her work is focused on high-end and niche hospitality, retail, and various commercial projects. She is specifically working on two projects, a restaurant/rock club in Harvard Square, and another restaurant in Central Square. She previously interned at Teknion.
