Luis Fernando Araque
Luis Fernando Araque is a Bachelor of Interior Architecture candidate at the BAC. He grew up in Colombia and migrated to New Jersey at the age of thirteen. Luis has been drawn to design since a child. "I love sketching, architecture, art, fashion and the automobile design industry," comments Luis.
After graduating from the Drafting and Design Technology Program at Bergen Community College in Paramus, NJ, Luis moved to Boston to pursue education at the BAC. Interior Architecture matches his desire to influence how people feel, collaborate, function and heal. "Working through the Gateway project initiative at the BAC and the Institute of Human Centered Design I have developed a greater interest in inclusive/universal design," says Luis. With this knowledge and his role as a student leader, he wants to promote an awareness of the importance of thinking about every possible user from the ground stage of design.
Luis served as the Vice President - IIDA of the Interior Design Society from 2013-2014, and is currently the head of the BAC's IIDA Fashion Show Committee. Luis was also elected Secretary of Atelier for the 2014-2015 academic year. He works as an Account Specialist with Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
