Kenneth Zolon '71
Kenneth Zolon '71 is presently a Director of the BAC Alumni Association and a past President. Mr. Zolon's background combines a comprehensive range of capabilities in the environmental design professions with extensive practical experience. He maintains an active practice and interest in environmental research.
His professional experiences began as an apprentice at several architecture firms in Boston while attending the BAC. He worked with a number of leading firms here and in the west before starting his own practice.
He holds a Masters Degree in Architecture from Harvard University where he won studio awards. He also received a Master in Landscape Architecture and Urban Design from Harvard University with honors where he did research in the art of landscape in urban settings. He received his Bachelor of Architecture and Certificate in 1971 from Boston Architectural College and was awarded the Ames Scholarship Award, the Boston Society of Architects competition first place award, and the Reynolds Aluminum prize.
Mr. Zolon taught on the faculties of the Boston Architecture College, Harvard University as a teaching fellow and as an instructor. He was a visiting critic at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Massachusetts College of Art and AI of Boston. He conducted symposiums at Harvard University with the Sierra Club and computer workshops at MIT for Build Boston Exposition and the AIA. Mr. Zolon was the first instructor of the Continuing Education Program at the BAC. He has been a thesis advisor to several students and is presently a portfolio review participant.
