Julie Galluzzo is currently studying Historic Preservation in the Masters of Design Studies program. Julie came to the BAC after a 12-year career in the telecommunications industry, having earned a master's degree in communication from Emerson College and working as a marketing and advertising manager. A lifelong fascination with historic buildings and heritage sites led to her decision to switch careers and study preservation.

Outside of the BAC, Julie has been involved in creating a gallery space to showcase artifacts from an archaeological dig at the Brewster House in Duxbury, MA, and was recently appointed to her town's historic district commission. As a commissioner, Julie takes part in architectural design reviews, and catalogues and promotes the historic structures within the town.

"The BAC has provided an exceptional framework for me to advance my knowledge of the built environment, and how to become a steward of it. The combination of outstanding instructors, a rigorous curriculum, and experiential learning opportunities has helped me to develop a more critical understanding of today's preservation challenges. The highlight of my BAC experience thus far has been a trip to Malta with my materials conservation class, to create a preservation plan for the garden features of an 18th-century villa." - Julie Galluzzo
