Eyob Gurmu was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and first came to the United States in 2002. Eyob's experience as a designer started early when he used to work in his father's woodwork shop as a child. Through this experience, Eyob developed an interest and hobby in furniture assembly.
Prior coming to the BAC in 2008, Eyob earned his Associate's Degree in General Science from Bunker Hill Community College. Eyob also developed an interest in technology and computer science. Since coming to the BAC, Eyob found the Design Computing program within the School of Design Studies to be an excellent fit for him. Computer Aid Design (CAD) is a profession that he would like to continue to develop as he tends to enjoy the process of design more than the final product itself. While at the BAC, Eyob had been involved with multiple Gateway projects and is now working at Earthos Institute where he assists in projects by preparing visual materials. Eyob graduated from the BDS program in Spring 2012.
