Adetula Abiodun is currently studying Sustainable Design in the Master of Design Studies program. Adetula started his design career with dual Bachelor's degrees in Environmental Sciences and Architecture from the University of Lagos in Nigeria. Adetula is also an alumnus of the Harvard Graduate School of Design Advance Management Development Program in Real Estate.
His practice experience spans about two decades starting with the firm of architectural consultants, Interdesigns Partnership in Lagos Nigeria, where he was actively involved with projects including commercial offices, institutions, and residential developments.
After some years of work experience, Adetula started a design group which offered architectural design services to the building industry in Nigeria. Through this work and growing his professional network, he later transformed the group into Units Environmental Sciences Limited, a multidisciplinary firm offering services in architecture and design, engineering, cost estimating, planning and project management under one roof.
In 2010, Units Environmental Sciences Limited partnered with a Minnesota firm, United Developers, and incorporated a foreign branch office, Units Environmental Sciences Inc. in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Since then, Adetula has led the team to be involved with the city of Brooklyn Park by improving and remodeling homes to make them energy efficient and more sustainable. Adetula is working presently in Nigeria developing Community Development and Design Center, a not-for-profit initiative of Units Environmental Sciences Limited, to leverage on the MDS experience, integrative design strategies, and the public interest design principles.
"I was fascinated by the BAC and the online program's concurrent format, which made it possible to pursue my design studies interest in Sustainable Design while still remaining active in my design practice." - Adetula Abiodun
