Landscape history is an ever expanding field in college and university curricula. It has migrated from its more isolated home in departments of landscape architecture and cultural geography to an expanded presence in art and architectural history, urban studies, and environmental studies. This talk examines the place of landscape history in academia, its changing methodology, and its role in enhancing the practice of landscape design.
