The Boston Architectural College is looking forward to congratulating graduates at our 2013 Commencement celebration. Please review the information below for the schedule of events.


Commencement Eve Honors and Awards Ceremony

Boston Architectural College, 320 Newbury Street, Boston
Commencement activities will begin with a special Honors and Awards Ceremony that will recognize student achievements. This event will offer refreshments in the BAC's McCormick Gallery as well as an awards ceremony in Cascieri Hall. There will also be an opportunity to view the impressive thesis and degree project work of our graduates. All are welcome to participate.


BAC Commencement Ceremony

BAC Commencement 2013 Exercises will be held at Old South Church, 645 Boylston Street, Boston. All graduates are required to arrive to the BAC at 2:00 pm. We strongly encourage our January 2013 and August 2012 graduates to return in May and participate in the Commencement Ceremony, so the achievement of all BAC graduates can be honored. Seating for the ceremony is limited and RSVPs are required. See below for more information on inviting guests.


BAC Commencement Reception

Immediately following the Commencement Ceremony, coffee, tea, cookies and cake will be served at the BAC's 320 Newbury Street building. Graduates, families, and friends are all welcome to participate.


Guests
Seating is limited for the 2013 Commencement Ceremony at Old South Church. Due to the expected number of participants, RSVPs are required when a graduate orders their regalia and we ask that each graduate limit their total number of guests to 4. Seats will be available on a first come, first served basis Commencement day, and guest tickets will not be issued. If you are a BAC student, alumni, faculty member, board of trustee member, or overseer and interested in attending the Commencement ceremony, please RSVP here.


Regalia

Graduation regalia will be provided to all BAC students participating in the Commencement Ceremony. Graduates should place their order by March 29, 2013 using the weblink that was emailed to them. Robes, hoods and berets will be available on Commencement afternoon. Participating graduates must arrive at Cascieri Hall by 2:00 pm on Friday, May 24th to robe for the procession to Old South Church. Once robed, a class photograph will be taken in front of the BAC building, graduates will line-up for the procession, and the parade will depart. All participants must return their robe and hood to the BAC, 320 Newbury Street, immediately following the Commencement Ceremony. Graduates will receive their personalized diploma when their robe and hood are returned. The beret and pin are gifts to the graduates from the BAC.


Photography

Professional photographs of the Commencement ceremony will be available to all graduates.


Parking and Transportation

Trolley service will be available on Friday, May 24th from 2 - 9 pm to transport guests between Old South Church and the BAC. Metered parking is available on Newbury St. and surrounding streets. Garage parking may also be available at:

  • Danker and Donohue Garage, 347 Newbury Street (limited spaces available)
  • Pilgrim Parking, 50 Dalton Street
  • Prudential Center Garage, 800 Boylston Street


Accommodations

There are various hotels located nearby the BAC and Old South Church in the Back Bay neighborhood. It is recommended that accommodations be reserved as soon as possible, since it is a holiday weekend and there are many events scheduled in Boston. A listing of local hotels can be found here.


Dinner Reservations

There are numerous restaurants located in the Back Bay neighborhood. If you are interested in having dinner after the Commencement Ceremony, it is recommended that you make reservations in advance. A listing of local restaurants can be found here.
