In the Design History, Theory and Criticism program, students research, analyze and evaluate buildings, interiors, landscapes and other objects and artifacts. Students investigate the built environment to understand how designs are the result of the cultural, social and economic context in which they are conceived and produced. Students study Western and global design history, modern and contemporary art, and they may explore other subjects through history and theory electives.
