Professional Development at the BAC
Professional Development is a cornerstone objective of Practice-based learning at the BAC. From Day One, BAC students are taught to think like professional designers by acquiring and developing the skills that are necessary to practice design professionally, not simply design professionally.
The Practice Department provides professional advising and a range of resources to help students identify their career goals and determine the appropriate steps toward developing and realizing those goals. Whether you are planning to become a licensed architect, landscape architect, or interior designer, or whether you are planning to blaze your own trail in the design industry, our staff in the Practice Department are available to meet with you individually to discuss your career needs...more
BAC Employers and Partners in Practice
Employers play an instrumental role in shaping the BAC student's experiential learning and professional development. Since the BAC's inception in 1889, BAC students have worked at numerous firms and organizations throughout the Boston area, often becoming valued employees. In addition to helping our students realize their professional goals, the Practice Department aims to develop mutually beneficial, sustainable relationships with members of the professional design community, and to provide employers with resources to help meet their specific recruiting needs. Visit our Employer page [coming soon] for more information on how to become involved in Practice at the BAC. To post a job to BAC students and alumni, visit the Practice Lab Info page.
