Eden Robards is a Master of Interior Architecture candidate at the BAC. She grew up all over the U.S., Germany, and South Korea. As you may have guessed, she grew up in an Army family. When Eden was a senior in high school, her family settled in Atlanta and she said, "I finally have a city to call home."

She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, concentrating in TV and Film Production, from the University of Georgia. With this degree, she worked in the television industry in Atlanta for six years where she had the opportunity to work on national sports programs, like NBA on TNT, the Masters Golf Tournament on CBS, and reality shows such as Good Eats and Curb Appeal.

While in television production, Eden often worked in the Art and Scenic department. "Designing and dressing a set is challenging and fulfilling," says Eden, "but I became intrigued by the idea of designing permanent spaces." A coworker with an architecture background inspired Eden to return to school for design.

Her first Interior studio, taught by Morris Tyler, instilled in Eden important skills and techniques needed to succeed in design, and also taught her how to love the act of designing. She says that period is by far not her best work, but it is definitely the most satisfying. In later semesters, Eden worked with fellow students on a Gateway project to propose a renovation for the Higginson-Lewis K-8 school, which allowed her to learn about how to design for an elementary education environment.

Eden served as Treasurer from 2013-2014 for the Interior Design Society and President of the 2013 IIDA Fashion Show Committee. She calls her roles as designer and model for the fashion show over the past two years an accomplishment in themselves. "The show requires an enormous amount of time, and also the ability to stretch and mold your design skills into a different creative field."

Eden is currently employed as an Interior Designer at Symmes Maini & McKee Associates.
