If a student has a first language other than English, then the student must demonstrate a level of English proficiency necessary to complete their degree. The student must submit an official TOEFL or IELTS score report with a minimum score of 79 (internet-based) or 213 (computer-based) for the TOEFL exam and a minimum band score of 6.5 for the IELTS exam, or enroll at the BAC without taking either exam (see details below). Graduate students who have completed an undergraduate degree in an English speaking nation can be exempt from submitting a TOEFL or IELTS score report if they provide an official transcripts from their undergraduate institution. In addition to submitting a TOEFL or IELTS score report, graduate international students who have not completed an undergraduate degree in an English speaking nation and all international undergraduate students, must complete an oral exam with an advisor at the BAC before enrolling.
Enrolling in the BAC degree programs without a TOEFL or IELTS
If the student has not taken the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or have scored below the minimum requirement, then the student will be admitted to the BAC, guaranteed, by completing the highest level of Proficient English Program at EC Boston.
EC Boston provides courses for English as a Second Language (ESL) students in various levels. It is located just a few steps from the BAC. www.ecenglish.com.
