Welcome to Federal Work Study
Work Study is a federal program whereby schools apply for, and are allocated federal funds to be expended each academic year in the form of FWS financial aid awards. These awards are given to eligible students who demonstrate financial need.
Students apply for Financial Aid by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) each year. After their financial need is determined, students can request that they receive Federal Work Study as part of their Financial Aid award.
FWS is offered to eligible students and provides them with the opportunity to work and earn income that they can use towards school or living expenses. By offering Work Study, the BAC in turn receives additional staff to help with their workload at a fraction of the cost.
Any student that has been offered a Federal Work-Study award must plan to attend the Federal Work Study Open House. All students who have been awarded a Work-Study award will be notified by the Financial Aid Office of the time and date of the Open House.
By offering FWS awards, the BAC hopes to improve the sense of community between students, faculty and staff, increase the desirability of the BAC to potential students, and provide more funding to current students to make the BAC more accessible and affordable.
